I’m terrible at creative writing. Ignore this next part.
Dane is a lanky half-elf with a shock of short, white hair. He is in his early twenties, but looks older. Being an albino paired with the rigors of the Stolen Lands can do that to a man. He tends to dress as well as he can, but the life of a brigand does not always treat fine clothes well. Leathers are functional and presentable enough to be daily fare.
Dane was born to a fairly well-to-do family in the area of Rostland, studying wizardry at the behest of his father. But he was separated from them in one of the many minor uprisings in the River Kingdoms. Sold into indentured servitude, he was eventually able to buy himself by performing mercenary work, logistics, and minor wizardry. This gave him the time to hone his studies and his swordsmanship to follow the path of the Magus. For reasons best not discussed in polite company, he fell to banditry to make ends meet. He functions well as a loner, often seeing others as objects unless they are useful, then theyare considered useful objects. Being naturally quick tempered, snarky, cerebral, and practical to a fault; he has managed to keep all his limbs intact, despite the best efforts of others. He is a ravenous reader, and is very guarded. This comes from a lifetime of watching his back, and relying on opportunism just to survive. (not to mention a few jilting lovers) Seeing that banditry is a poor long-term choice of career, he began to search for ways to establish himself in this wild country. Then this business with the new settlements began. Ever the pragmatist, he hastily arranged to be a recipient of a writ. This brings us to today.
